Keihin developed itsrst ECU for hybrid vehicles in 1999. Since then, it has continued its efforts to respond to the increasing electrication of vehicles, particularly with the start of mass production of power control units (a core component in hybrid vehicles) in 2015.
Today, Keihin’s electric vehicle control systems include power control units boasting world-class output density, battery management systems that perform a variety of battery monitoring and control functions (including those for drive batteries designed specifically for electric and hybrid vehicles), and management ECUs that are designed to be smaller and lighter in order to contribute to better energy consumption efficiency.
Keihin is also moving forward with the development of technologies like its cell voltage sensor, which debuted at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, to support the future evolution of plug-in hybrids and other electric vehicles.
