We conduct our daily activities on the basis of the following considerations.
In order to make Keihin a highly law-abiding company, I, as an associate for Keihin and a member of society, vow to sincerely follow the law.
I will work to properly understand and follow the content and spirit of all related laws, get a grasp of legal trends, and deal with them appropriately.
When I am unsure how to interpret a section of the law, I will check with the legal department, a governmental agency, or an expert outside of the company for clarification.
If I discover an action in which the law has been or may have been breached, I will notify, suggest or consult with the direct supervisor, the legal department, or window for business ethics within the company.
I will notify a governmental agency as necessary when required by law.
I will work to properly understand and follow the content and spirit of all related company regulations, and appropriately deal with any revisions.
When I am unsure how to interpret a company regulation, I will check with the department that originated the regulation for clarification.
If I discover an action in which a regulation has been or may have been breached, I will notify, suggest or consult with the direct supervisor or window for business ethics within the company.
I will make notifications required by company regulation as appropriate.
As a member of society, I will act ethically in accordance with social etiquette.
In order for everyone at Keihin to live a safe and healthy lifestyle,
I will work to create a safe and healthy environment.
I will strive to create a comfortable work environment as an active participant by keeping the workplace clean and organized.
I will follow all smoking-related rules and etiquette.
To prevent disaster, I will manage all dangerous functions and areas appropriately.
When discovering a dangerous area in the workplace or potentially unsafe operation, I will immediately notify the direct supervisor.
When a disaster occurs, I will take action to prevent the disaster from expanding, while prioritizing human safety.
I will always maintain an understanding of the proper steps to take and people to contact during an emergency, and will act quickly and appropriately.
For Keihin to be a leading company in the promulgation of traffic safety,
I will strive to follow all driving rules and etiquette.
I vow to never drive while intoxicated, drive recklessly, drive without a license, attempt to escape the authorities, or drive in any other way that is illegal or malicious.
For Keihin to have regional and community roots as a corporate citizen (*), I will actively participate in social contribution activities as a member of society.
I will seek to interact with the local community through active participation in community events, etc.
I will actively support those with mental or physical disabilities.
If a disaster occurs I will actively participate in support efforts.
I will actively participate in or support volunteer activities.
For Keihin to be a company which actively supports conservation of the global environment,
I will work actively to protect the environment.
I will make every effort to minimize and properly dispose of waste materials and contaminants at all stages of business, including development, production, distribution, sales, and waste treatment.
I will work to use resources and energy efficiently, and also to recycle.
I will carry out environmental measurements, recording, and notifications related to soil, groundwater, atmosphere, noise, odors, etc. in accordance with environmental laws and company regulations.
For Keihin to appropriately manage information from customers and suppliers,
I will handle confidential information (*) with meticulous care.
I will lock fixtures, and appropriately manage personal computers, passwords, and security.
I will not leak confidential company information, supplier or customer information, or any personal information belonging to employees.
For Keihin to be a company that respects personal privacy,
I will make the utmost effort to protect the privacy of others.
I will follow laws and regulations that protect personal privacy including the intended spirit of the laws.
Before releasing or providing personal information to a third party, I will receive permission from the owner of that information.
For Keihin to be a non-discriminating and fair company,
I will actively respect the individualities and differences of others from around the world, and will act under the premise that everyone is equal.
I will not discriminate against another based on birth, nationality, thought or creed, religion, gender, race, tribe, age, physical/mental disability, illness history, interests, education, societal status, etc.
I will not use expressions or language deemed as discriminatory, or which may be misinterpreted as such.
For Keihin to maintain a fair and healthy relationship with its suppliers,
I will deal with them in a fair and ethical manner.
When selecting a supplier from among many, I will compare and evaluate their terms and conditions fairly based on procurement of products and services, deciding on the supplier who best fits our needs.
I will not provide/receive gifts or entertainment to/from suppliers which go beyond what is legally and socially acceptable.
I will not use my job title or authority to wrongfully provide/receive favors to/from stakeholders.
For Keihin to maintain a healthy relationship with national and local government offices,
I will interact with them in an ethical manner.
I will not provide/receive excess gifts or entertainment to/from those in public office which go beyond the scope of business customs, or what is generally considered legally or socially acceptable.
For Keihin to be a highly-transparent business,
I will place great importance on open communication with the community.
